Special features of rubber profiles

Rubber profiles cannot be measured by conventional measuring devices. Calliper gauges or tactile measuring systems such as they are used for measurement of plastic and aluminium profiles, are rendered useless due to the specific material features of rubber.

Conventional measuring techniques
Measurement of rubber profiles is therefore done only by optical measuring devices. Usually, profile projectors are used where operators compare highly magnified sequences of rubber profiles to set parameters.

Disadvantages
  • time-consuming method
  • precision of measurement may vary, depending on the operator.

Conventional methods do not always guarantee objectivity. The question whether a profile is of good or insufficient quality, quickly becomes difficult to answer.

The solution - PROMEX
For a continuously high measuring accuracy and also in order to offer calibration accuracy, ASCONA has developed a variety of systems which automate the measuring procedure.

The software must also be able to measure profile types which vary strongly from CAD data, especially rubber profiles.

PROMEX offers all these measuring options.
