Objective measurement of web collapsing for extruded profiles
From a certain size on, evenly shaped visible surfaces of aluminium profiles need stabilizing webs. This is why web collapsing occurs during the production process. Only when the finish has been applied web collapsing will become evident to the eye. But at this point it will be too late to sort out any profiles of inferior quality and the costs for the finish have already occurred. Here, PROMEX OBJECTIVE provides safety during quality control.

Surface inspection system directly integrated into the aluminium extrusion press
Camera units check the extruded profile for irregularities on the surface directly at the extrusion press. No matter if there are pick-ups, bubbles, chatter marks, holes or cracks, PROMEX CSI Inline detects all faults on visible surfaces and sorts out incorrect profile sections. This guarantees high productivity at the extrusion press and satisfied customers.
Clear quality statements for visible surfaces of aluminium profiles with inner chambers
If aluminium profiles have inner chambers the raw material in the tool needs to be separated before it is brought together after the punch. The resulting areas are called welding lines. In many cases the welding line is not visible after the pressing process. However, if the profile will be anodized a welding line might appear on the surface. The PROMEX measurement instrument for welding lines guarantees an objective evaluation of the welding line and therefore establishes clear quality criteria for aluminium profiles with inner chambers.
Fault detection on surfaces in inner chambers avoids damaged profiles
Normally faults on surfaces in chambers of aluminium profiles are no problem because they are no visible surfaces. However, if a profile forms cracks, it is a serious fault which immediately appears on the outside of the profile. Mostly the profile tears at the webs of the inner chambers. This damage becomes apparent by chatter marks or holes on the inner contour. The PROMEX inner chamber inspection offers a solution for checking aluminium profiles with regard to these failure characteristics without any exception. However, the profile should not be longer than 2 m.
