PROMEX CSI: Profile surface check during the extrusion process.
PROMEX CSI is able to recognise objectively and reliably flaws on profile surfaces.
Cross section.
Two cameras which are integrated into the extrusion line effect the monitoring of the profile surface. They compare any flaws that occur with the special features of a flaw which were stipulated by the customer before. The feature "sensitivity" and "size/frequency" describe any flaw that has to be detected and sorted out. A typical example for the parameter "sensitivity" is an indication up to which value colour modifications on the surface are acceptable. The parameter "size/frequency" determines the size of an individual flaw or the frequency of flaws per unit of area which will trigger an alarm.
A selection of typical flaw groups is given hereunder. All of them can be detected by PROMEX CSI:
- scratches/ furrows
- pores
- cavities
- streaks in surface gloss
- surface waviness
- foreign bodies/inclusions/dirt particles
- edge waviness
