PROMEX CONTROL – the process-bound software
PROMEX CONTROL is the basic software for PROMEX BASIC, PROMEX ADVANCED and PROMEX EXPERT.
This software is not simply a general measuring software but its development was made in co-operation with our customers. This means it has been specially adapted to the requirements encountered in the profile industry.
PROMEX CONTROL offers the following features which are important to us and our customers:
- Short measuring times, independent of a profile’s complexity
- Visual display and evaluation
Measuring data displays variations from standards, varying figures are marked in colour
- Automatic documentation and generation of protocols
PROMEX CONTROL is adapted to the process and offers the following benefits:
- Highest efficiency:
Construction departments and production personnel all work on a uniform operation surface. Quality assurance is therefore automated and based on centrally generated test schedules.
- Individual features:
Specific requirements forwarded by customers regarding test schedules can be fulfilled with a high flexibility.
- Facilitate measurement:
Contours which appear repeatedly have to be established only once as a measuring chain – macros automatically complete the test schedule.
- Processing changes:
In case CAD data changes, only the change itself must be handled, not the overall test schedule.
- Condition of extrusion dies:
Continuous measurement permits statistical data editing which provides information as to how long an extrusion die can remain in use until refurbishment is required. This is how PROMEX CONTROL not only optimises the measuring procedure but in addition furnishes an update on parts of the production process itself.
PROMEX CONTROL in detail:
PROMEX CONTROL is an „All Inclusive“ package containing all software features.
Contrary to other software, PROMEX CONTROL does not consist of one basic version and numerous additional modules which would add to the costs.
The software consists of two parts:
One is the reference editor for generation of the test schedule in the constructions/quality assurance department, the other is the measuring program which supplies measuring results at the push of a button directly to the production department.
In the reference editor first the CAD data is loaded, then measurements and tolerances are defined. This results into the test schedule.
The following main features are included:
- Allowance for tolerances in shape and position
- Tolerance tables
All common tolerance tables were integrated into the software and can be linked to the test schedules
- Simple handling of test schedules
In case CAD data changes, only the change in the measuring chain must be processed, not the overall test schedule
- Automatic wall thickness measurement
One mouse click will define all wall thickness values with the same specified dimension as the measuring value.
Extract of usable measuring points and measuring values:

- Convexity & Concavity
- Minimum / Maximum
- Right angles
- Construction point
- Center points of enveloping curve and fitting-in element
- Fixed point
- Point of symmetry

- Center of gravity
The measuring program can be operated very easily. Our customers confirm that even untrained personnel can operate it correctly.
Measurement can be effected in three simple steps:
- Load the test schedule
- Insert production object
- Start measurement at the push of a button
Immediately after the measurement, access is possible to different presentations of results:
- Bar graph
This type of presentation is particularly important for the line operator who needs a clear decision aid (e.g. intervene, stop, etc). The visualisation of all dimensions gives him an immediate information on intervention limits.
- View of dimensions
This display indicates which dimensions are checked which is a particularly interesting view for your customers.
- Graph of deviations
A three-dimensional presentation of results, e.g. for the extrusion die manufacturer. Further, this is a perfect option for comparing 2 different parts. Deviations can be clearly detected, including information on how much they differ from the standard.
- Protocols via Internet
Measuring data is processed in HTML format. Results can be studied globally with a browser. Data can be dispatched by email or printed out as PDF.
- Data interfaces
Linkage to SPC/CAQ systems and ODBC data banks. Software can also be integrated into the existing infrastructure of your company.
- Automatic recognition of contours
The software is able to recognise contour parts automatically, even if the section differs considerably from the position of the CAD data.
